In a statement on Friday morning, Kindiki directed the DCI boss to involve the expertise of homicide detectives to help solve the case.
“I thank the DCI for his quick action on this matter. The homicide team from the DCI headquarters is dispassionate, and this will help resolve the claims of collusion at Kasarani Police Station where the matter was reported,” he said.
The 23-year-old Mwathi who is an interior designer was captured on CCTV footage falling from the 10th-floor apartment window at a house rented out to DJ Fatxo, whose real name Lawrence Njuguna.
The incident happened on February 22 at Redwood Apartments around Safari Park Estate,
Reports indicate that Mwathi had been in DJ Faxto’s house after spending the night partying with the popular Mugithi singer alongside his cousin and driver.
Mwathi is said to have met the singer hours earlier for an interior design job and he had been promised a down payment to begin work that same morning.
The family of the deceased has dismissed suicide claims, noting that Mwathi had never considered suicide .
