Deputy president William Ruto has asked his supporters to ignore doctored opinion polls which he says are manipulated in favour of his Azimio la Umoja opponent Raila Odinga.
Speaking in Kakemga the UDA presidential candidate claimed Azimio la Umoja is using pollsters to manufacturer doctored polls in its favour
He said that Azimio coalition has exhausted all its strategies and is only left with opinion polls.
His remarks came few hours after a survey released by Trends and Insights Africa (TIFA) showed that Raila was the most preferred presidential candidate with 42 per cent compared to Ruto’s 39 per cent.
“I want to urge you not to worry. We have defeated them (Azimio) in everything; in our agenda, our manifesto and plans,” Ruto said.
Ruto said the final decision on who leads Kenya will be made by the people of Kenya on August 9
The survey however placed Ruto’s UDA party as the most popular party with 33 per cent approval rating compared to Raila’s ODM which had 26 per cent.
According to the survey, the Azimo La Umoja-One Kenya coalition is the most preferred among Kenyans with the Kenya Kwanza coalition coming in second.
