Deputy President William Ruto has accused a section of Kenyan media of being biased against him and his team in their coverage of political campaign in the country.
Through his presidential campaigns’ director of communications Hussein Mohamed, Ruto claims that a section of the media has been unfair to his team and have negatively been profiling his team.
The DP threatened not to attend the planned presidential debate if the alleged media bias against his campaign doesn’t stop.
“We expect the media to play their rightful role in cultivating a healthy , robust and inclusive discourse. Our democracy depends on the media to make our political environment less divisive and less toxic, “the statement read
“Under the current partisan media environment, we have advised our candidate against participating in the presidential debates.”
