Celebrated songstress Akothee has for the first time shared her struggle with depression.
The Baby Daddy hitmaker has disclosed that just like most people, she at some point suffered from depression and had to battle it for a whole six months.
Akothee candidly revealed that fame, money, and attention from all over confused her to the point she could not operate normally like a normal human being.
Speaking during an interview with Radio Maisha, the mother of five said that she did not know how to handle fame at first and it affected how she interacted with people around her.
According to Akothee, it got worse as she could not separate Akothee from Esther and would in most instances behave in unpleasant ways to people owing to the confusion.

”I decided to go on a holiday because I had battled depression for six months. I was in a very bad place since September 2021, and it took a toll on me. First and foremost, this fame came with a lot of expectations. It got to a point where I could not separate Esther from Akothee and vice versa. I did not know when to be Esther and when to be Akothee. I could not even deal with my employees well. Fame comes with a lot of pressure.”Akothee said.
