Outgoing Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi has landed a new job days after losing his seat in the just concluded elections
Kiraitu has been appointed as a member of the Kenya Law Reform Commission (KLRC)
Kiraitu was sworn in on Monday by Chief Justice Martha Koome.
The long serving politician lost to Kawira Mwangaza in a holty contested duel for Meru governorship
He came third after garnering 110,814 votes against Kawira’s 209,148 votes
Kiraitu contested under the Devolution Empowerment Party (DEP)
He was elected Meru governor in 2013 under the jubilee party
The Havard trained lawyer fell victim to the string UDA wave that swept across the Mount Kenya region
He supported Raila Odinga led Azimio La Umoja movement
It was his first time he was losing a political contest since joining politics
