Deputy President William Ruto in a statement shortly after the Madaraka Day celebrations ended encouraged Kenyans to remain committed and keep pushing for the prosperity and unity of the country.
Ruto who did not get a chance to address citizens during the Wednesday, June 1 Madaraka celebrations, further reminded Kenyans that they are responsible for the future.
“Today we celebrate 59 years of Madaraka but we must not forget that we are responsible for the next years ahead, we are the makers of this nation, let us choose a path of progress, unity and prosperity,” Ruto said via a statement on Facebook.
Moreover, during the event, only president Uhuru and his Serra Leone counterpart Julius Maada Bio addressed the function.
