Maendeleo Ya Wanawake has asked Raila Odinga to endorse Martha Karua as his successor upon completion of his term in office should he be elected Kenya’s 5th president.
The Maendeleo Ya Wanawake national chairperson Rahab Muiu noted that the organization is fully in support of Mr. Odinga’s presidential bid. She added that they hope the Azimio leader will endorse his running mate Martha Karua as his successor.
According to Ms. Muiu, Maendeleo ya Wanawake organization has over the decades advocated for the inclusion of women in decision making. Thence they applauded the selection of Karua as the Azimio la Umoja presidential running mate.
Moreover, Muiu urged voters in Siaya to turn up in large numbers in August 9, to vote in their son. She added that it would be unwise for the residents to relax at home and expect their son to take over the reins of the country.
“There is nothing like the system will help. We must turn up and vote to enable baba na mama to sail through” she said.

Likewise, the Maendeleo ya Wanawake national chairperson stated that, Azimio supporters must put in hard work to garner votes for their presidential candidate. She further mentioned that they should not underrate deputy president William Ruto who has been campaigning for the last four years.
Furthermore, Muiu challenged Kenyans to disregard leaders who are promising to make the country a Marijuana growing hub. At the same time, she asked electorates to only vote for aspirants whose manifesto were realistic and would ensure their social and economic well-being.
“We are a religious nation and cannot afford to support people who are advocating for bhang or snake rearing” she said.
