Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha said he has enjoyed serving as a cabinet secretary under president Uhuru Kenyatta’s leadership.
He attributed this to the freedom president Kenyatta gave him.
Moreover, while commenting on the contention between embattled Kenyatta University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Paul Wainaina and the State over a piece of land, Proff. Magoha stated that the VC should resign if he is not in agreement with government decision.
“I respect my colleagues, we are different, but I am too proud. If I don’t agree with you, I just walk away but if I agree with you, we agree till death. For example, this president, I will serve him till death, which is about three weeks’ time,” stated Magoha.

The CS further noted that the head of state has given him the freedom to exercise his powers as a Cabinet Secretary without any interference. According to proff Magoha, such freedom is key for any future leader seeking his services.
“If somebody else wants my services, they will have to convince me that they will give me the same leeway that this president has given me to serve. Si mnaona ninawika na hakuna kitu inafanyika?, I feel free. I have been given the freedom to do my work without interference,” stated the CS.
In addition, Magoha’s tenure in the Ministry of Education has seen him gain a reputation as an abrasive and no-nonsense administrator.
Likewise, what is most notable during his tenure, is his leadership in the country’s transition from the 8-4-4 curriculum to the CBC one amid resistance from education stakeholders
