KBC media veteran Leonard Mambo Mbotela has been sworn in as a member of the National Heroes Council.
Mambo Mbotela was sworn in on Monday September 26 before the Chief Justice Martha Koome.
CJ Martha through her twitter confirmed Mbotela’s swearing in following his appointment in August.
“Witnessed the swearing-in of Leonard Mambo Mbotela as a member of the National Heroes Council following his appointment last month,” Tweeted CJ Koome.
Mambo Mbotela is well known for his show “Je huu ni Ungwana’.
The 82-year-old was appointed to the council last month by the Sports, Culture and Heritage CS Amina Mohamed set to serve for a period of three months.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 (3) of the Kenya Heroes Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Culture and Heritage appoints Leonard Mambo Mbotela as a member of the National Heroes Council, for a period of three years with effect from the 5th of August 2022”, read the Gazette notice at the time.
The National Heroes Council whose mandate is to identify, select and honor our Country’s heroes can only consist of not more than 13 members.
