Nandi Hills Member of Parliament Benard Kitur wants Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu to scrap the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC).
Kitur claims that CBC is difficult to implement and has become a burden for students, teachers, and parents.
“Stop this thing called the CBC to Grade seven and eight and revert to 8.4.4 system and have a well thought-out program that will be reasonable for parents,” he said.
Kitur argues that hard economic times are making it hard for the country making the implementation of CBC impossible.
“The reality is that we are in a financial quagmire as a country. The economy is not doing well,” he said.

At the same time, the MP has asked the education CS Ezekiel Machogu to shield parents from hard economic time by abolishing the CBC adding that it has brought a lot of confusion in schools.
“The minister for education should just stop that crap. We should have a proper framework that will be reasonable in the pockets of many Kenyans who are going through difficult financial challenges.
“We should not lose the reality that Kenyans down the pyramid are suffering,” he added.
