The BasiGo startup has announced that they will unveil 15 more electric buses in Nairobi to serve various routes.
The additional buses are arriving during a period when clean transportation is becoming increasingly embraced in Kenya due to environmental concerns.
Kenya, similar to other nations globally, is facing challenges with unpredictable weather patterns, including shortened rainy seasons and prolonged dry spells, which negatively impact its agricultural industry, which is a vital component of its economy.
“Kenya are we ready? 15 electric buses will be coming to our roads soon. Look out for these state-of-the-art electric buses on your route,” the firm said on its LinkedIn page.

It was led by Mobility54, the corporate venture capital arm of Toyota Tsusho, Trucks VC, a transportation-focused venture capital fund in Silicon Valley, and Novastar Ventures, a global VC supporting entrepreneurs transforming markets in Africa.
Investment round participants also included Moxxie Ventures, My Climate Journey (MCJ), Susquehanna Foundation, Keiki Capital, and OnCapital.
