20 Heads of State and 2,500 VIPs are expected to grace President-Elect William Ruto’s swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday, September 13, at the Kasarani stadium.
Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho, who is also a member of the Assumption of Office Committee, on Saturday, September 10, confirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is already making arrangements to accommodate the welfare of the leaders.
“All the protocols associated with the visiting Heads of State led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are already making plans,” Kibicho stated.
Moreover, Kibicho announced that they expect the 60, 000 capacity stadium to be filled to the brim.
He further advised Kenyans who plan to physically attend the inauguration ceremony to be seated by 7.00 am.
Nonetheless, an overflow space has been created where huge television screens have been mounted to accommodate people who will not have access to the venue.
Additionally, the gates at the venue of the ceremony will be opened at 4.00 am.
Kibicho also assured Kenyans that adequate security measures have been put in place to make sure there are no hitches on the D-day.
“10, 000 police officers will be deployed at the venue to ensure order, and everybody is safe.” Said the Interior Principal Secretary.
At the same time, Kibicho confirmed that all is set for the day, and that the committee is satisfied with the preparations and has no doubt that the ceremony will be colorful.
Nevertheless, the Interior Principal Secretary also mentioned that the infrastructural preparations, including the main podium expansion, would be completed by Sunday’s close of business.
