Narc-Kenya party leader Martha Karua, who was Raila Odinga’s running mate in the 2022 presidential polls has maintained that she is not in agreement with the Supreme Court judgment that upheld President-elect William Ruto’s win.
While speaking at her Kimunye home in Kirinyaga County on Saturday, September 10, Martha stated that she is pondering taking her grievances to the East African Court of Justice, purely to seek further interpretation of the 7-judge bench’s ruling.
Moreover, Martha noted that a lot of events surrounding the 2022 presidential election do not make sense to her.
Hiyo ndio rule of law na democracy,” she stated.
She said.
Furthermore, Martha Karua added that she is yet to fully accept that they were beaten at the elections fairly.
She added: “Kwa vile korti ilisema tuko na hot air…hot air balloon inaweza nipeleka East Africa…I am considering whether to travel on a hot air balloon to the East African Court just to discuss that judgment. Hii si maono ya Azimio, now it’s me as a Kenyan because also I’m entitled, as an individual, so it’s something I’m considering.”
Nevertheless, the Narc-Kenya boss noted that as at now, the Azimio team must live and contend with the Supreme Court judgment.
In addition, Martha said adding she is proceeding on a political sabbatical as she waits for the comprehensive judgment from Supreme court’s 7 judges.
“For now, because I have time, I will take a break…and also because korti ilisema baada ya siku 21 wataleta sababu zao za ile maono walitoa…nangojea hizo sababu,” she said.
Karua stated.
