David Pkosing, the Pokot South Member of Parliament was going about his business as usual until he was arrested by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for allegedly financing cattle rustlers and bandits from Pokot.
Elected on a Kenya Union Party (KPU) ticket, an affiliate of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance, Pkosing was grilled by the DCI on Thursday, February 16 over posting bonds for seven boys from Pokot whom police say belong to banditry outfit.
However, the Azimio legislator denied meeting the boys but acknowledged that he posted their bond upon release. The lawmaker noted that he felt the seven suspects had been wrongly accused.
In his defense, Pkosing said the seven boys were the owners of two hundred heads of cattle killed by bandits.

“What I know is that they’re innocent boys, and that is why the court had seen it fit to release them on bond,” the MP stated.
“I am a peaceful person and served in the Peace and Justice Commission before becoming an MP. Everyone is aware of that. And for the record, I have never recorded a police statement before,” Pkosing further indicated.
His lawyer Danstan Omari further denied reports that Pkosing owned the mysterious white helicopter, which lands in bandits’ hideouts supplying them with weapons.
“My client was, in a very humiliating manner, picked from the precincts of his offices, and dragged to the DCI on allegations that he is the mastermind of the banditry in North Rift Valley,” Omari stated.
“He has given his version of the story. He has never owned a white chopper, and it is all over that the alleged chopper that is supposed to be funding or transporting the bandits is white. The MP has accounted for all the days since this issue started, and that is why he has been released to go home. He’s not in any police custody,” Omari said.
Pkosing had received a text message from a senior government official warning him before he was apprehended at the Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC).
