Confirming the incident, Laikipia County Police Commander John Nyoike said Wandera was stabbed in the left side of his chest.
“It is reported that the officer had received information that there were some jerricans of the illicit brew that were to be delivered at a den in the area. He decided to conduct a raid but was attacked by a brewer,” Nyoike said.
Nyoike further said that a boda boda operator who ferried Wandera to the changaa den reported at Rumuruti police station and delivered news of his demise.
Following the incident, police launched a manhunt for the suspect and her accomplices, who are still at large.
Police are trailing a motorbike which allegedly ferried her from the crime scene. Law enforcement officers also gathered other evidence to help them file the murder case.
