The Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji has landed a new role as the African representative at the International Association of Prosecutors.
This was announced during the IAP 27th Annual Conference and general meeting which took place in Tbilisi, Georgia, this week.
The IAP 27th Annual Conference was set to look at the impact of the pandemic on the criminal justice system and examine whether the strategies and digital technologies deployed to ensure business continuity are both desirable and sustainable in the long term.
The conference further examined prosecutorial responses, including engagement with the private sector and information technology solutions.
The awarding of the office is an acknowledgement of the prominent place that Kenya occupies in the international criminal justice arena.
The DPP further pointed out Kenya’s role in the international criminal justice arena.
“The election of the DPP and the awarding of the office is an acknowledgement of the important place that Kenya occupies in the international criminal justice arena,” said Haji
Noordin will be able to advance innovative strategies to tackle Transnational Organized Crime (TOC) and enhance regional and international cooperation and collaboration in the prosecution of transnational organized crime.
