Outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday, September 13, evening bid farewell to State House staff.
This, he did as he prepares to vacate the state house after handing over power to his successor President-Elect William Ruto.
Moreover, President Kenyatta was accompanied by First Lady Margaret Kenyatta as they said their goodbyes to the State House Kenya leadership team led by Comptroller Kinuthia Mbugua.
Furthermore, during the farewell meeting attended by head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua, the outgoing president thanked the officers for distinguished service during his tenure and advised them to serve the new administration with the same enthusiasm.
Nevertheless, earlier on Monday, President Kenyatta hosted his successor William Samoei Ruto at the state house ahead of Tuesday, September 13 swearing-in ceremony.
President-elect William Ruto and the incoming first lady Rachel Ruto arrived at State House, Nairobi were both welcomed by Kenyatta and the outgoing First Lady Margaret.
Likewise, Ruto will be sworn in on Tuesday, September 13 at the Kasarani Stadium after winning the August 9 general election that was also validated by the Supreme Court following a petition filed by Azimio la Umoja One Kenya leader Raila Odinga.

Additionally, President Kenyatta and his Deputy Ruto have had a frosty relationship since 2018 when the president shook hands with longtime opposition leader Raila Odinga.
President Kenyatta also supported Raila Odinga in the recent election hoping he would succeed him. However, Raila lost to Ruto.
