President William Ruto has appointed the former Inspector General Joseph Boinnet as the new Deputy National Security Advisor.
According to a gazette notice on March 6, 2023, State House Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service Felix Koskei made the announcement stating that it was in line with the National Security Council Act.
The current National Security Advisor Monica Juma was also appointed to a new position of the Secretary of the National Security Council.

“It is notified for the general information of the public that the National Security Council has appointed—Joseph Boinnet to be the Deputy National Security Advisor,” read the notice.
“It is notified for the general information of the public that the National Security Council has appointed Monica K. Juma to be the Secretary of the National Security Council.”
