President William Ruto has asked persons engaging in Azimio led anti-government protests to respect the rights of others.
Ruto called for an end to the destruction of property and loss of lives witnessed during Azimio protests.
He said while everyone has a right to enjoy the rights enshrined in the constitution, they should do so without trampling on the rights of other people.
“The constitution did not envisage that different opinions will result in chaos, or loss of property or loss of life,” said Ruto
Ruto spoke when he presided over the launch of the Public Service Commission (PSC) Values and Principles Compliance Report 2021-2022 at KICC, Nairobi on Friday.
“We must all of us be able to celebrate the rights provided for in our constitution in a manner that respects the rights of others, and in a manner that does not destroy property, or in a manner that does not make our children not go to school.

Deputy President was categorical that what is being witnessed in the country every Monday and Thursday is beyond the realm of demonstrations.
“These are not demonstrations; this is post-election violence. Elections were done, the Supreme Court ruled, and these people have brought violence. These are not demonstrations anymore, this is post-election violence,” Gachagua said.
