Uganda President Yoweri Museveni’s son, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, paid a courtesy call to President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday, June 8 at State House, Nairobi.
General Muhoozi, who is the commander of Uganda’s land forces, during his visit deliberated upon several bilateral and multilateral matters of interest to Kenya and Uganda.
A report by the statehouse stated that restoration of peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo was among the issues discussed.
Besides, Muhoozi’s visit to Kenya comes at a time when there are widespread reports of him planning to succeed his father in Uganda’s next general election.
Moreover, in April this year, Muhoozi threw a ‘talk of the town’ 48th birthday party that was graced by the presence of his father, President Museveni and Rwanda President Paul Kagame. He later on hinted on his interest to vie for the Presidency.
“When Team MK wins power in this country, which we will, our first action will be to increase the sports budget. Team MK will announce our political programme soon,” General Muhoozi wrote in a tweet.
