President Uhuru Kenyatta while addressing the nation during the 59th Madaraka Day fete at Uhuru Gardens on Wednesday, June 1 called on the next government to fight corruption so as to continue with the big push investments his administration has achieved.
The President urged the government that will succeed his administration come August 9, to focus on fighting corruption, adding that it will be impossible to do the big push investments in dams, roads and rail in an environment plagued with corruption.
The head of state said that, it is only by addressing corruption cases which have prevented the nation from realizing its full potential in matters development, that the next government will multiply the gains his administration has made.
“For the next administration to multiply our dividend and continue raising the bar, therefore it must work from the inside out. It must not backslide on the corruption ‘clean up’ agenda,” the president said.
Furthermore, president Kenyatta urged Kenyans to vote for leaders with good credentials and those who will continue with the fight against corruption.
