Azimio Leader Raila Odinga has denounced the invasion of former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s property, claiming that it was carried out by “goons” hired by the government.
Despite being an ally of Odinga’s, Kenyatta’s large farm was looted in retaliation for his support of Odinga. The incident occurred during anti-government protests, called for by Odinga due to claims of election fraud and the rising cost of living in the country.
While more protests are planned, the government has condemned the violence and disruption caused by the demonstrations.
Odinga has stated that he bears no responsibility for the property destruction caused by protesters and defended the constitutional right to demonstrate.

He also criticized President William Ruto’s economic policies and called for the electronic election servers to be opened to verify the fairness of last year’s vote.
Although Kenya’s Supreme Court dismissed Odinga’s case challenging his election loss in August of last year, he still maintains that the ruling was influenced.
Despite this, Odinga has expressed a willingness to meet with President Ruto for talks but has set two preconditions that need to be met. Firstly, he wants the electronic election servers to be opened for verification, and secondly, he insists that the selection of new commissioners of the election body should involve all parties.
