Days after Deputy President William Ruto accused sections of the media of being biased against him and his Kenya Kwanza team, ODM leader Raila Odinga has moved to the defense of the media
Speaking at the Bomas of Kenya, moments after being cleared by the IEBC to run in the August 9 polls, Raila said that the media is free to choose what they broadcast and should not be directed on how to do their work
Raila noted that all political candidates should be prepared to be questioned, vilified, praised, and held accountable by the media.
He said the freedom of expression allows the media to censor whatever they want to broadcast
On Saturday, DP Ruto had accused some media houses of being used to paint a negative image of his Kenya Kwanza team and giving too much airtime to his main competitor Raila Odinga.
