Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition leader Raila Odinga will likely hold a parallel Jamhuri Day celebration on December 12.
Odinga is on December 7 expected to launch a series of anti-government drives.
The drives will act as a vote of no confidence against President William Ruto’s administration.
On Tuesday, Odinga and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka chaired a coalition Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting in Nairobi, where the decision to launch anti-government initiatives was endorsed.
During the meeting, the possibility of holding a parallel Jamhuri day celebration on December 12 was discussed.

Odinga called off planned nationwide anti-government rallies that were to kick off with a mega rally at Nairobi’s Kamukunji grounds.
He cited the ongoing national examinations as the cause for the postponement.
The opposition is opposed to an attempt to remove from office four IEBC commissioners .
The four who disowned the results of the presidential election are led by are vice-chairperson Juliana Cherera and commissioners Justus Nyang’aya, Irene Masit and Francis Wanderi.
Odinga seeks to use the rallies to seek the public’s say in the push by President Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance to send home the four.
