Robbers broke into a home in Vihiga county, slaughtered a chicken, cooked ugali and later made away with 14 more.
Jane Mudanya, who had travelled to Kisumu, was shocked to find 14 of her chickens missing.
Jane further explained the chicken stew aroma that hit her as soon as she entered her kitchen.
“I was welcomed home to a rude shock after realizing 14 hens were missing. When I entered my kitchen there was an aroma of chicken stew,” she said.
The woman from Chamasilihi village in Vihiga County said the chickens were her source of income, which she had planned to sell to produce school fees for her children.
” I have struggled to raise the chicks from day one for seven months now expecting to sell at a profit so that I can pay school fees for my children.”
Jane further asked the county government to create job opportunities for the idle youths as they were resulting in other illegal means of earning money.
She also requested for security upgrade in the village as young lazy men were reaping what others sow.
“Young men in this area are lazy. They have refused to work expecting to reap from other people’s sweat. They should style up,” Jane said.
