Deputy President William Ruto has promised to assign formal duties to his Deputy should he win the August 9 presidential election.
Speaking on Sunday during the unveiling of his running mat at his Karen home, Ruto said he will sign an Executive Order on his first day in office to actualize the promise.
The DP said going by the experience of the office he has served in for the past nine years there was a need to define its roles.
According to the Kenya Kwanza coalition agreement, the DP will be tasked with chairing cabinet committees, overseeing the implementation of Cabinet decisions as well as coordinating intergovernmental relations between the National Government and County Governments.
