Sitting President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday evening paid the ODM party leader, Raila Odinga, a visit in his Karen home.
This particular re-union happened a day after the Supreme Court dismissed Odinga’s Petition that had challenged the August election Presidential results.
The seven judge bench upheld William Ruto’s presidential win, and declared the results announced by the IEBC credible.
Raila in a press release said he respected the court’s decision but disagreed with their ruling.
“We have taken note of the decision of the Supreme Court on the Presidential election held on August 9th, 2022. We have always stood for the rule of law and the constitution. In this regard, we respect the opinion of the court although we vehemently disagree with their decision today,” Raila said.

Among the people present at Odinga’s residence were Azimio la Umoja’s lead counsel and Siaya Senator-elect James Orengo, Raila’s spokesperson Makau Mutua, His lawyer Paul Mwangi, wife Ida Odinga, and daughter Winnie Odinga.
In the photos circulating on different social media platforms, Uhuru seemed to have been accompanied by his son Muhoho Kenyatta.
Mutua and Uhuru looked happy posing for a photo together which left Kenyans online in question as the fierce civil rights activist had refused to recognize Uhuru as the president in 2013.
Uhuru had openly showed his support for Raila during the August election campaigns as the two had been close allies following a handshake agreement in March 2018.
Kenyans online have expressed concerns about Raila’s well-being in regard to the photos shared online from the meetup at his Karen residence.
