Sirisia MP John Waluke has made a passionate appeal to President William Ruto save him from a 67-year prison term hanging over his shoulders over fraud.
Waluke who is currently out on Sh10 million bail was on June 22, 2020, jailed for 67 years by the Anti-Corruption Court.
He was found guilty of defrauding the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) Sh297 million through shady deals.
During a Western Kenya leaders meeting in Kakamega, Waluke told Ruto that former President Uhuru Kenyatta promised to help end the case but failed to deliver on his promise.
“Nakuomba hii kesi yangu rais, nishughulikie hiyo rais ,” Waluke said.

The MP revealed that he decamped from Ruto’s UDA to the Jubilee party after Uhuru promised to intervene and save him from jail.
“Na juzi nilimuuliza umeretire umeniwacha tu? Akaniambia nilijaribu na nikashindwa,” Waluke told Ruto.
Waluke, who was convicted alongside his business partner Grace Wakhungu (69-year prison term) were given the option of Sh1 billion fine each.
The court found that the sum of Sh297,386,505 that was paid to their trading company, Erad Supplies and General Contractors Limited in 2013 by NCPB was based on fraudulent claims.
Waluke appealed the sentence and was on November 18 granted Sh10 million bail in the case where they were found guilty of fraudulently acquiring the money purporting it to be the cost of storing 40,000 metric tonnes of maize
