Two people have been killed and seven shot at a shooting during a graduation ceremony in Richmond Virginia.
According to media reports from the US, the shooting sent scared students running for safety outside the Atria Theater in Huguenot High School.
The two-shot dead were a father and son, 36 years, and 18 years respectively.
The identities are yet to be revealed; however, the son was part of the graduating class.
The police took into custody a 19-year-old suspect believed to know at least one of the victims.
The Interim Richmond Police Chief Rick Edwards said another person was found armed with a handgun but was released after he was cleared of any involvement in the shooting.

Another graduation scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed and all classes are cancelled on Wednesday.
The shooting took place in Monroe Park after the ceremony had ended at the Virginia Commonwealth University campus.
“Is nothing sacred any longer?”
“A child should be able to go to their graduation and walk at their graduation and enjoy the accomplishment with their friends and families,” Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney said.
