A presidential delegation from the United States of America is set to attend the inauguration ceremony of the president-elect William Samoei Ruto on September 13, 2022.
The team of 5, U.S Ambassador to Kenya Hon. Meg Whitman, USA representative from Texas Colin Allred, Assistance Secretary of State for the Bureau of African Affairs Mary Catherine Phee, and Assistant Administrator for the Bureau for Africa, U.S Agency for International Development DR. Monde Muyangwa, led by USA Trade Representative Katherine Tai will represent their country as Kenya swears in their 5th President.
President Biden days earlier had congratulated the President-elect William Ruto and commended Azimio la Umoja’s party leader Raila Odinga for respecting the Supreme Court’s Ruling.
“We congratulate William Ruto on his election as president of Kenya. We commend Raila Odinga for abiding by the Supreme Court’s ruling” Biden said.
Karine Jean Pierre, White House Press Secretary, recognized Biden’s commendation to Raila Odinga on accepting the Supreme Court’s judgement.
“We also congratulate the people of Kenya on the conclusion of a peaceful electoral process, we commend Raila Odinga and other candidates for abiding by the Supreme Court’s filing transparent electoral processes and the peaceful education adjudication of disputes our testimony to the strength of democratic institutions,” said Pierre.
2500 VIPs are expected to grace the occasion with at least 20 Heads of states including Uganda, Tanzania, Djibouti, Rwanda, South Sudan, and Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Kenya Police Service will be deployed at Kasarani to ensure there is maximum security and order during the occasion.
