Former Gatanga Member of Parliament Peter Kenneth said he will stay in Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition and play his role as a member ahead of the August 9 general elections even if he is not selected as Raila’s running mate.
While addressing the press after he appeared before Azimio’s running mate selection panel, Peter Kenneth expressed his loyalty to Mr. Odinga, stating that failing to deputize him will not stop him from supporting the former prime minister’s presidential bid.
“In the unlikely event where I’m not the one fronted, I will still remain in Azimio and give my full support as I have given before, that is where I belong,” said Kenneth.
In addition, the former Gatanga MP stressed that picking a running mate from Central Kenya region which he claimed is rich in votes would greatly benefit the Azimio alliance
“Yes, I am from Mt. Kenya. Yes, I cut a national role. But it is important to realize that Mt. Kenya is a vote-rich area, and the opposition has had a field day there,” he said.
Peter Kenneth also mentioned that Azimio’s presidential flag bearer has been on an upward trend in Mt. Kenya. Adding that it is not a must, but anybody who is doing Mathematics will place Mt. Kenya as a priority.
