Apple has announced that iOS17 will be making its way towards the end of 2023, with a new contact-sharing feature called NameDrop.
The company made the announcement during Apple’s Worldwide Developer’s Conference, stating that the new feature will allow Apple users to exchange contact information by bringing devices close together.
The new feature will make it easy to share contacts, in such a way that, just my two iPhone users bringing their phones together and tapping, the contact is shared.
Sharing via Airdrop, Namedrop will automatically show a username, no need to scroll through available apple devices around to pick the right one.

According to Apple Insider, the new iOS 17 will also enable users to create contact posters that take over the display when getting a call.
“Apart from the NameDrop, users will also be able to leave video messages when a call is missed, swipe to reply to a message rather than long press and live transcribe voicemails in real time so the user can decide to pick up,” it said.
