The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has revealed the regions expected to receive rainfall over the weekend and during the first week of December. In a forecast released on Friday, November 28, Kenya Met predicted that while most parts of the country are expected to remain sunny and dry, some regions, including the Highlands east and west of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the Coast, and the South-Eastern Lowlands, will receive rainfall.
Kenya Met Lists Regions to Experience Rainfall
According to Kenya Met, regions in the Highlands west of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley are expected to experience sunny intervals in the mornings, while afternoons are expected to have showers and thunderstorms on Saturday, November 29.
There is a chance of showers over a few places on both Sunday, November 30, and Monday, December 1, 2025, with sunny intervals on Tuesday, December 2, and Wednesday, December 3.

Areas within these regions include the counties of Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot. Nights are expected to be cloudy throughout the entire forecast period.
Weather forecast for Nairobi and its Environs
In the Highlands east of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi and its environs, Kenya Met predicts cloudy mornings with sunny intervals, except on Saturday, November 29, when there is a chance of rain over a few places.
Other counties in this region include Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka Nithi.
Showers are expected in a few places in the afternoons, while nights are expected to be partly cloudy.
Elsewhere, Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta counties, as well as inland parts of Tana River County in the South Eastern Lowlands region, are forecast to have a chance of rain over a few places in the mornings, with afternoons also mostly having a chance of showers over a few places.
Nights are expected to be mostly partly cloudy, except on Saturday, November 29, and Sunday, November 30.
In the Coast region, including counties of Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, Kwale, and coastal parts of Tana River County, sunny intervals are expected to dominate, except on Monday, December 1, and Tuesday, December 2, when a chance of showers over a few places is predicted.

Afternoons are expected to have a chance of showers over a few places during the forecast period, while nights are expected to be partly cloudy.
In the North-Eastern region, which includes counties of Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo, Kenya Met predicts that sunny intervals will dominate the five-day forecast, except in the morning on Saturday, November 29, when there is a chance of rain over a few places.
Afternoons are expected to be sunny, while nights will be partly cloudy.
Turkana and Samburu counties, in the northwestern region, are forecast to experience sunny intervals in the mornings and afternoons, with nights expected to be partly cloudy.
