Spotify Premium subscribers in over 60 markets can now make voice requests directly to the platform’s Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered DJ feature.
The DJ is a personalised AI guide that knows you and your music taste so well that it can choose what to play for you.

First rolling out in beta, this feature will deliver a curated lineup of music alongside commentary around the tracks and artists we think you’ll like in a stunningly realistic voice.
“Listeners asked for more ways to interact with the DJ and enjoy more control over their listening sessions – and now you can!” stated Spotify in the announcement.

The DJ, now responsive to English voice commands, gives Premium users a brand-new way to curate the vibe of their listening sessions in real time.
By simply using your voice, you can ask the DJ to update your personalized listening experience based on what you feel like hearing whether it’s a specific artist, genre, mood, or the perfect soundtrack for any activity.

It will sort through the latest music and look back at some of your old favorites, maybe even resurfacing that song you haven’t listened to for years.

Additionally, it will then review what you might enjoy and deliver a stream of songs picked just for you. What’s more, it constantly refreshes the lineup based on your feedback.
If you’re not feeling the vibe, just tap the DJ button and it will switch it up. The more you listen and tell the DJ what you like (and don’t like!), the better its recommendations get.
How Spotify AI DJ Works
To get started, just head to the search tab on Spotify, type “DJ,” hit play—and your personal music maestro is ready.
Head to your Music Feed on Home in the Spotify mobile app on your iOS or Android device.
Tap Play on the DJ card.
Let Spotify do the rest! The DJ will serve a lineup of music alongside short commentary on the songs and artists, picked just for you.
Not feeling the vibe? Just hit the DJ button at the bottom right of the screen to be taken to a different genre, artist, or mood.
If you want to change the vibe, press and hold the DJ button in the bottom-right corner of your screen.

You’ll hear a beep when the DJ is ready—then speak your request. For example:
“Play more pop,”
“Surprise me with some indie tracks,”
Or simply, “Give me something upbeat.”
Pro tip: If you want to switch the vibe but don’t have a specific request, just tap the DJ button to skip to the next section.
