The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has released its latest weather forecast, highlighting areas expected to receive rainfall during this weekend. In the forecast published on Thursday, November 13, 2025, the Kenya Meteorological Department outlined weather conditions for the period between Friday, November 14, and Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
The agency noted that while most parts of the country are likely to remain sunny and dry, some regions may experience rainfall.
“Most parts of the country are likely to be sunny and dry. However, rainfall is expected in some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the Coast, the South-Eastern Lowlands, and North-Eastern Kenya,” Kenya Met stated.
Kenya Met Releases Five-Day Weather Forecast
According to the weather forecast, regions west of the Rift Valley, including the Highlands and the Lake Victoria Basin, are expected to experience rain in a few places in the morning, except on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, when sunny intervals are anticipated.
Afternoons are likely to experience showers and thunderstorms except on November 15 and November 18, when Kenya Met predicts sunny intervals. There might also be a chance of showers in a few places on Monday, November 17.
Showers are expected to occur in a few places during the nights of the forecast period.

Areas within these regions include Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot Counties.
In the Northwestern region, which includes Turkana and Samburu Counties, Kenya Met predicts that this region will have sunny intervals in the mornings as well as in the afternoons. Nights will be partly cloudy during the entire forecast period.
Weather Forecast for Nairobi and its Environs
The regions in the Highlands of East of the Rift Valley, which include Nairobi and its environs, have a chance of rain over a few places in the mornings, except on Tuesday, November 18, when the weather is expected to be cloudy, breaking into sunny intervals, while showers over a few places are expected to dominate the afternoons during the forecast period.
Kenya Met also reported that there is a chance of showers over a few places during the nights in the forecast period.
Other areas within these regions include Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka Nithi counties.
At the same time, counties in the northeastern region, including Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo, are expected to experience sunny intervals in the mornings, with showers anticipated in the afternoons.
Partly cloudy weather is expected to prevail during the forecast period, except on Monday, November 17, when there is a chance of showers in a few places.
South-eastern Lowlands
In the Southeastern lowlands region, which includes the counties of Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta, as well as inland parts of Tana River County, mornings are expected to have a chance of rain in a few places, while afternoons may experience showers in a few places.
Showers are expected to occur over a few places during the night.

Areas in Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale Counties, as well as the coastal parts of Tana River County, located in the Coast region, are expected to experience showers dominating the mornings, except on Monday, November 17, when sunny intervals are anticipated.
Afternoons are expected to experience mostly a chance of showers over a few places during the forecast period, and nights are expected to be partly cloudy.
