Jubilee party has settled on Harrison Wangoro Mwangi as its candidate for the speaker position of the County Assembly of Nairobi.
Wangoro vied for the Embakasi North parliamentary seat on a Jubilee ticket but lost to a UDA candidate.
Jubilee party secretary general Jeremiah Kioni confirmed that Wangoro was their candidate for the key seat
“The Jubilee party wishes to nominate Wangoro Mwangi as the Nairobi County speaker,” Kioni said.
Azimio la Umoja coalition has a commanding lead in the Nairobi County assembly with 45 MCA seats against Kenya Kwanza’s 36.
As for individual parties Jubilee has 6 seats ODM (35), and Wiper party (4).
On the other hand, UDA has 35 while Moses Kuria’s Chama cha Kazi has 1

Already Jubilee has written to affiliate parties to support its candidate.
Already ODM has Edwin Sifuna as Senator and Esther Passaris as women representative of Nairobi.
Azimio has further agreed that the position of deputy speaker be given to the Wiper party, majority leader (ODM) and chief whip (Jubilee).
Azimio leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka are expected to ratify the position
But with the ongoing defections, Azimio is worried that some of its MCAs might eb lured into crossing over to the Kenya Kwanza side
