Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has released the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results.
While speaking at Mtihani House on Wednesday, December 21, CS Machogu announced that over 1.2 million students sat for the national examinations that begun on November 18.
The best student garnered 431 out of 500 marks.
Moreover, the Education CS released the results shortly after presenting them to President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi.
Furthermore, CS Machogu in his speech praised President Ruto for spearheading the administration of the examinations which he termed a success.

“All the candidates whose results I am releasing today will be admitted to Form One, under the 100 per cent transition policy,” he stated
Moreover, English and Kiswahili recorded the highest improvement in comparison to the 2021 KCPE results.
In the 2022 KCPE, 9443 students scored above 400 marks, 307,756 students scored between 300 and 399 marks while 619,593 students scored between 200 to 299.
KNEC Chief Executive Officer, David Njengere, reported that the examination ran smoothly, adding that no major malpractice was reported during the examinations.
Mr. Njegere also acknowledged the milestones that had been achieved in recent years given that the government was phasing out the national examinations.
“This KCPE is the second last in the series of examinations at the Primary level, as Kenya phases out the 8-4-4 system of education,” he stated.
On her part, Teachers Service Commission (TSC) boss Nancy Macharia during the event called on teachers to apply for positions that had been announced by the government as she acknowledged the role, they played in overseeing the examinations.
How to Get 2022 KCPE Results on Phone
Candidates can get their results on mobile phones by sending their index number followed by initials KCPE to code 20076 and will be charged Ksh. 25 per SMS.
The CS further stated that just as it has been our tradition, the KCPE results will be collected from Sub- County education centers.
Moreover, head teachers at the respective schools can also download and print their students’ results from the KNEC online portal (www.knec-portal.ac.ke).
