The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has again summoned Tiaty Legislator William Kamket and MCA Silale Lotela to their offices in Nakuru later this week for further interrogations.
The duo is under investigation over the recent attacks in Kapedo.
Kamket was arrested last week and is on a police bond of Sh. 100,000.
He was ordered to appear before the detectives from the DCI on January 29.
Lotela, on the other hand, surrendered himself at the DCI offices’ whereby he got interrogated for more than three hours over the said attacks on his ward.
According to Kamket’s lawyer Kipkoech Ng’etich, Kamket is ready to comply with the police and the government and will avail himself before the DCI on Friday.
“My client has a date with the police on Friday as per the directions given last week. He is ready to comply with the government,” he said.
The Rift Valley Regional Police Commissioner George Natembeya said the two are under investigation and can be summoned anytime to clarify certain issues over the recent attacks.
“What is happening is that the two individuals are still under the directive of the police. They can be called to appear any time this week before the police could take any action based on their findings,” he said.
The regional administrator last week said the government has names of politicians and individuals who are behind the recent violence in Kapedo, a center that lies along the border of Baringo and Turkana counties.
