The Presbyterian Church of East Africa(PCEA) has called on the IEBC to be fair when running the August 9 polls.
PCEA moderator of the General Assembly Reverend Thegu Mutahi said IEBC must listen to all players in the forthcoming elections.
Speaking in Nyeri, Mutahi said the only way to guarantee fairness is by listening to grievances raised by every player.
The church however supported the IEBC on the use of the electronic register as the main voter identification mode.
He however added that the manual registration should be used in case of an eventuality.
“I see no harm of having the manual register as a backup,’’ he said.
Rev. Thegu noted that they would not wish to see a return of the problems caused by the use of the manual register.
At the same time the church wants Kenyans to treat the fallout between President Kenyatta and DP William Ruto with a pinch of salt.
“The two might embrace each other after elections and Kenyans hating each other because of their differences will be left alone,” he equipped.
The church has called on Kenyans to maintain peace during the electioneering period and put the country first.
