Three Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers were selected for a training programme in the United States.
The week-long training scheduled to take place in New Orleans, Louisiana, will handle homicide related cases.
Moreover, the three officers including; Fredrick Odemba, Vincent Langat and Patrick Wachira were selected from the DCI’s Homicide Department.
The training is organized by International Homicide Investigators Association (IHIA).
In addition, DCI reports state that the international programme for specialized detectives will equip its officers with professional skills to handle death crimes that have been rampant in the country.
“The training has brought together an elite group of professionals, from around the world, representing all death investigation disciplines,” read part of the statement by the DCI on Sunday, August 14.

“IHIA’s membership includes highly respected death and homicide investigators, criminal behaviorists, forensic scientists, crime scene technicians, crime and intelligence analysts, and others, many of whom are considered among the foremost experts in their respective fields and disciplines.” The statement further read.
Nevertheless, the DCI highlighted the importance of registering their personnel in the programme. They added that it would help in solving many related cases in the country.
“The experience acquired by the detectives in the training, will undoubtedly go a long way in assisting the Directorate to solve homicide cases expeditiously and deliver justice to victims of crime,” stated DCI.
Likewise, the enlisting comes two months after the government commissioned DCI’s National Forensic lab.
The lab is meant to combat crimes in the digital economy.
