Mike Sonko who is seeking the Mombasa gubernatorial seat in a statement on Tuesday, May 24 said he will continue to serve the people of Mombasa and will not allow the several interim court orders to slow him down.
The Former Nairobi Governor claimed that the law is very clear, displaying confidence that he will have the last laugh.
“Hizi ma interim orders za kuni block hazitatu slow down tusifanyie wanainchi kazi. The law is very clear, let’s see who will laugh mwisho,” Sonko tweeted.
Sonko’s remarks came at a time when there are several petitions seeking to have him banned from contesting for public office because of his impeachment.
Moreover, both individuals and lobby groups have been after relevant agencies looking to stop Sonko and former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu from holding any public office. As such, on May 10, a court stopped the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission from clearing impeached governors Mike Sonko and Ferdinand Waititu to partake in the August 9 general elections.
