The White House issued President Donald Trumpās latest physical exam results on Friday, May 29, saying the 79-year-old is in āexcellent healthā just weeks before his 80th birthday. However, the glowing report ran quickly into a wall of public doubt online.
Physician to the President CAPT Sean P. Barbabella signed the memo following Trump’s May 26 checkup at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
The summary lists Trump at 6 feet 3 inches tall and 238 pounds, with blood pressure at 105 over 71, resting heart rate in the normal range, and a perfect 30 out of 30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, or MoCA. Labs came back strong, too, including total cholesterol at 143 mg/dL.
Trumpās Minor Health Notes Include Bruising and Leg Swelling
The report also mentions a scar on Trumpās right ear from the assassination attempt last year.
It cites slight bruising on his left hand, which doctors said was from frequent handshaking, and mild swelling in the lower legs that continues to improve.
The president takes medication for cholesterol, avoids tobacco and alcohol, and remains up to date on vaccines.
“Preventive counseling was provided, including guidance on diet, recommendation to take a low-dose aspirin, enhanced physical activity, and continued weight loss,” the memo states.
Trump himself posted on Truth Social after the exam, saying everything “checked out PERFECTLY.”
The numbers paint a picture of robust health for a man entering his ninth decade. A cardiac age reportedly younger than his actual years added to the favorable tone.

Yet the release triggered an immediate surge of doubt across social media sites.
Many focused on the height and weight. Trumpās weight puts him just below the obesity line on standard BMI charts at 238 pounds. He is 6ā3.
Critics shared side-by-side photos comparing the official numbers to his appearances at recent public events, where his suits often look baggy, or his frame appears heavier.
“If he’s 6’3″ and 238, why keep pushing weight loss?” one user asked. Similar questions have followed Trump’s physicals for years.
Others questioned the uniformly strong lab results. “Every single number smack in the middle of perfect? Not how real blood work works,” one reply read.
Some doubted the perfect cognitive score, while others found the hand bruising explanation unconvincing, given how often it appears in photos. The memo said bruising was due to regular handshaking.
The four-day gap between the exam and the report’s release added fuel to the fire. Past physical summaries from Trump’s second term followed quicker patterns.

This delay, combined with visible issues such as leg swelling noted in earlier exams, left room for critics to call the document either polished or incomplete.
Supporters and Trump’s allies pushed back by pointing to the president’s demanding schedule, recent overseas trips, and ability to rally for long stretches as proof that the report matches reality.
Presidential physicals have always carried political weight. Doctors chosen by the White House prepare them, and presidents decide what gets released.
Trump’s earlier entries listed him at similar heights, with weights in the 220s.
The latest 238-pound figure suggests some fluctuation but still claims progress on fitness goals.
