Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has responded to claims of meeting President William Ruto at night at State House.
Kalonzo, in a post on his official X account, denied the allegations, stating that he would never betray Kenyans.

He flagged the video as fake news, stamping it with a “FAKE” label. Kalonzo alleged that his critics have already begun to panic ahead of the 2027 elections.
“Why are they so panicky? The People’s Loyal Coalition will never be party to the biggest betrayal of Kenyans for political expediency and temporary comfort,” Kalonzo said.

Kalonzo Denies Reports of His Secret Meeting with Ruto
This comes after a viral clip shared on social media showed the Wiper leader walking on State House grounds, accompanied by United Democratic Alliance (UDA) secretary General Hassan Omar.
He is then seen seated beside Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi and other leaders before President William Ruto comes and Kalonzo greets him.

Kenyans were quick to call out Kalonzo, with a section of users labeling him a betrayer.
“Just last year, Kalonzo vowed he would never work with Ruto. Today, he’s making moves toward State House. Politics is truly unpredictable, but desperation exposes true intentions,” a user by the name Tony said.
Kenyans React to the Purported Video
Another user Kaiser Tonizz chimed in stating,” Kalonzo’s meeting with Ruto is a clear indication that he is running out of options. The UDA-ODM deal has forced him to reconsider his stance.”

At the same time other users claimed that the political ground is shifting fast and Wiper risks being swept away if Kalonzo doesn’t act.
“Kalonzo has always played the long game, but time is not on his side anymore. Raila has moved on, leaving Wiper to find its own way. Will the party survive this transition?” User Magar Hon posed.
However, a reverse search conducted by The Kenya Times reveals that it is true Kalonzo met with the Head of State, but it is not a recent video.
The video was first taken in March 2024 when Kalonzo was handing over the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report to President Ruto.
Kalonzo first visited State House in September 2023, a year after President Ruto took office in September 2022.
He was among the guests who attended the dinner hosted by President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto.

Wiper Leader Terms Raila, Ruto Deal Betrayal of Kenyans
These reports come after Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka criticised the cooperation agreement between President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga, calling it a betrayal of Kenyans.
While reacting to the unveiling of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Raila and Ruto, Kalonzo reaffirmed that the current opposition coalition will continue standing firm for the people.
“We are the People’s Loyal Coalition. What has come out of KICC today is the biggest betrayal of Kenyans. The people’s loyal coalition will never trade its principles for temporary comfort,” Kalonzo posted on his X.
He would later, on March 9, after Gusii residents refused to be addressed by Raila Odinga, write, “The unholy ‘MoU Co-operation Agreement’ is not about democracy or strengthening a democratic political culture; rather, it is the biggest betrayal of Kenyans for political expediency and temporary comfort.”
