Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has officially launched a new political outfit, the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP).
Branded with a listening ear as its logo, DCP is positioning itself as a people-centered party that pledges to amplify the voices of ordinary Kenyans.
According to Gachagua, the party slogan, “Skiza Wakenya”, translating to “Listen to Kenyans”, shows the party’s mission to put the concerns of Kenyans at the heart of governance.
“We believe as a party that every Kenyan must be listened to by their leaders. This listening must not just be listening for the sake of it.
“It must be deliberate, planned, and must have a purpose, and must be sustainable. At no one given point in our leadership shall Kenyans be left behind or remain unheard,” said Gachagua.
The party colors are neon green, brown, and white, and are designed to symbolize renewal and peace.
“You know that I have always been a people’s person, especially for those in the deepest corner of our villages,” added Gachagua, explaining that the party was for every Kenyan irrespective of age, faith, colour or tribe.
