The Democratic Alliance Party of Kenya (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa has announced the promotion of Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya.
Speaking during the launch of the new party headquarters, Wamalwa recognized Salasya for his active role in addressing several issues in the country including the rise of fake fertilizers and his firm stance against the controversial Finance Bill 2024.
Salasya was also recognized for his loyalty to the people of Mumias, and for being a vocal advocate for the region’s farmers, consistently fighting against the exploitation of farmers through substandard fertilizers.
“Our greatest partner that will ensure we win round one and send William Ruto home will be the Gen Zs. So I want to give special recognition to this team and tell PK Salasya,
“That in recognition of your efforts, a champion of the Gen Zs, fighting as the champion of farmers in Mumias, and even the issues of fake fertilizers,” said Wamalwa.

Salasya Promoted for Humbling Ruto in Western
Additionally, Wamalwa lauded him for his remarks in Western Kenya, calling our President William Ruto on failed projects.
“You are also the person who humbled Ruto in Western Kenya with the issues of SHA and refused to accept the Finance Bill 2024.
“So today because of your outstanding loyalty to the country and the course, one of our leaders in Kakamega was facing disciplinary issues because of going against the deals of the party.”
Details of the promotion, according to the party leader, will be included in a gazette notice as it is made official.
“Therefore today we want to elevate PK Salaysa to a very senior position in the party. You will be receiving your promotion letter and will see the gazettement.”

Ruto and Salasya’s Hits in Western
On January 20, the MP took a hit at the president, calling him out for hurting Kenyans through salary deductions as the head of state was on a tour in Western Kenya.
According to Salasya, Kenyans were bitter at Ruto, yet he had surrounded himself with advisors who were misleading him. Also, he said that the Housing levy deductions and increased National Social Security Fund (NSSF) deductions, only hurt Kenyans.
“Those civil servants have lied to you and misled you into hurting the payslips of Kenyans and that is why Kenyans are bitter with you. Today we have farmers here but we also have teachers in these villages, whose salaries are deducted because of the affordable housing levy and they can see that they will never own a house.
“Let me ask you, Mr President, if you take money from that kind of a person, they will get angry. We are living in a capitalist country,” questioned Salasya.
