Tech entrepreneur Ndiangui Kinyagia has appeared in court after being reported missing since June 21.
Family lawyer Wahome Thuku confirmed that missing tech-entrepreneur Ndiangui Kinyagia is in contact with his family and is safe, healthy, and well.
Earlier, according to the family lawyer’s statement, Ndiangui indicated that he is ready and willing to present himself to the DCI and to be presented before any court of law when his safety and security are guaranteed.
In a statement issued on July 3, 2025, Thuku revealed that Ndiang’ui reached out to a family member on Tuesday evening from an undisclosed location.
“On behalf of the family of Mr. Ndiangui Kinyagia, I wish to inform the Kenyan public as follows: Mr. Ndiangui, who went missing last week, has contacted his family and assured them that he is well, healthy, and safe,” the statement read in part.
Thuku further disclosed that Ndiangui told the family he had gone into hiding temporarily after learning that officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) were seeking him over unspecified criminal allegations, prompting him to fear for his safety.

Additionally, he advised the blogger to appear before the High Court at Milimani Law Courts today, Thursday, 3rd July 2025, at 11 am.
At the same time, Thuku also noted that the same information has been formally communicated to the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) for review and possible presentation in court.
Additionally, the family reminded the public that officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) had broken into Ndiangui’s home in his absence and carried away several items. The incident was later reported at Kinoo Police Station.
The family also expressed their gratitude to all Kenyans, both locally and abroad, for the overwhelming support shown during the difficult period.
His Disappearance
His sister, Njeri Kinyangia, said the detectives broke into his house after hours of fights with the caretaker.
Njeri said the detectives arrived in 10 Subarus and camped at the building from 2pm to 9pm on Saturday.
They broke into the house and seized two laptops, two phones and two passports.
“10 Subarus had to camp at the area from 2pm on Saturday and they tried to forcefully enter the building, but the caretaker had requested them to identify themselves,” Njeri said.

Court Orders His Release
The High Court ordered the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, and the DCI Director, Mohamed Amin, to produce blogger Ndiangui Kinyagia, who had been missing for 10 days.
The petition, which was filed on June 25, 2025, targeted the IG, Douglas the Director of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Mohamed Amin, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, and the Attorney General, demanding they present Kinyagia in court or explain his whereabouts.
Justice Chacha Mwita had directed the Inspector General of Police to appear in court on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, to explain why the blogger had been held incommunicado for that period. However, neither the Inspector General nor DCI Director appeared in court as directed.
