Police in Mombasa have arrested five suspected thieves, hours after they were seen bragging about their “success” on Tik Tok.
In a statement, DCI announced that the six were arrested after an intelligence led operation by a team of officers based at Central Police Station in Mombasa.
The five individuals are according to the statement suspected to be members of an organized criminal group that has been operating within Sargoi area and its neighborhoods.
In the video shared by Kenya Police, the suspects were seen displaying Identity Cards, a court and a phone claiming to have stolen them from unidentified people.
“The five suspects namely Vincent Ochieng, Shadrack Ochieng, Felix Otieno, Salim Ali and Shafi Yusuf had earlier been captured in a video recording while displaying items that they had stolen from their victims,” the DCI statement read.

In what has been a rising trend on Tik Tok, the individuals even asked viewers to contact them via direct messages (dm) to enquire whether any of the stolen items were on sale.
The video was reflection of the trend where some content creators have been making fun out of thievery claims in Tik Tok.
