The letter dated September 26 and allegedly addressed to PS Korir claimed that the apology was rendered following a productive meeting between Ford Foundation President Darren Walker and President William Ruto during the UNGA meetings in New York.

“We want to address the concerns raised in your recent communication regarding the involvement of our grantees in the protests that took place in June 2025. After conducting internal audits and investigations, we confirm that some of our grantees did, in fact, use their funds to support and participate in these protests,” read part of the fake letter.

In his response to the reports, PS Korir stated that he was not in receipt of the said letter adding that it was fake.
