Kenyan-founded e-invoicing technology company DigiTax has expanded into the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after receiving pre-approval from the Ministry of Finance to operate as an e-invoicing service provider.

In a statement dated September 2, 2026, DigiTax said it had launched operations in the UAE, opened a new office in Dubai, and begun recruiting local staff.

“The global company has opened a new office in Dubai to support its growth and has launched a recruitment drive, anticipating strong demand in line with the UAE government’s e-invoicing regulations,” the statement read.

The company said the recruitment drive targets sales, account management, customer service, technical support, tax and compliance positions.

Caine Wanjau is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and co‑founder of DigiTax (DigiTax Tech), a Kenyan‑founded electronic invoicing and tax‑compliance technology firm.

DigiTax operates in the UAE through Namiri Technology Services L.L.C., which the UAE Ministry of Finance has listed as a pre-approved e-invoicing service provider and is undergoing final accreditation assessment.

The expansion comes as the UAE moves to standardize digital invoicing and reporting requirements for businesses under the Federal Tax Authority framework.

The company also noted that since 2022, DigiTax has served thousands of customers globally and has processed more than US$20 billion in invoices to date.

With a presence across the Middle East and Africa, the company plans to expand into 10 additional international markets in 2026.

In the UAE, DigiTax said it will help businesses transition to FTA-compliant e-invoicing without rebuilding their existing finance systems.

Caine Wanjau, DigiTax CEO and co-founder, said the UAE’s focus on digital transformation made it an important market for the company.

“It’s a privilege to launch in the UAE, a country that is deeply admired around the world for its forward-thinking. It is a country that inspires us, especially as it pursues digital transformation,” Wanjau said.

He added that DigiTax looked forward to supporting businesses and entrepreneurs contributing to the UAE’s economic growth.

DigiTax UAE Director Ahmed Farouk said the company had already begun hiring locally and would need additional talent as its operations grow.

“We have a real advantage for businesses in the UAE because we already have a proven recipe for e-invoicing success built in international markets,” Farouk said.

He identified security, simple systems and a strong focus on customer satisfaction as key factors behind the company’s approach.

DigiTax Explains How UAE E-Invoicing Will Work

Under the UAE Electronic Invoicing System, businesses will exchange and validate digital invoices through FTA-approved Accredited Service Providers, replacing traditional paper invoices and basic PDF invoices.

The company said the system uses PINT AE, a Peppol International Billing standard, alongside five-corner Continuous Transaction Controls. The company is also a Peppol-licensed business.

Additionally, it stated that its e-invoicing platform acts as a compliance layer between businesses and the Federal Tax Authority ecosystem by recording, transmitting, and automating invoices.

DigiTax said its technology can integrate with existing accounting and ERP systems through more than 50 API-ready integrations, helping businesses automate compliance and reduce manual work.

For businesses without sophisticated accounting systems, DigiTax also provides a web-based dashboard designed to improve visibility and automate reporting.

The company said structured invoice data can also give businesses insights to improve operations, cash flow, and supplier and customer management.

It currently serves government partners, family offices, multinational companies, ERP and POS vendors, auditors, accountants, and consultancies across sectors including construction, e-commerce, finance, FMCG, logistics, manufacturing, technology, and transport.
