The Chief Executive Officer of KCB Group has been awarded the Meaningful Business 100 award (MB100). Paul Russo was honoured among four other Kenyan Leaders who have benefited society through their businesses.
The Meaningful Business Company made the announcement through a one-day event where the MB100 winners were honoured. The event brought together Kenyan industry leaders and key stakeholders to discuss Kenya’s potential to influence sustainability across the continent.
The award recognizes leaders who transform their businesses to benefit society and generate profits. This year’s awards received 850 applications drawn from different business leaders from different parts of the world.

Russo won the award in recognition of his style of leadership that promotes sustainable business practices that are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This is well demonstrated by his emphasis on financial inclusion by providing financial services to underserved populations. This goes a long way to promote regional and economic growth.

Paul Russo is the head of one of the largest banks in the East African region. KCB has assets worth over of over $16.9. billion. With a presence in Kenya, Tanzania, South Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo and Representative offices in Ethiopia and Belgium. It serves over 38 million retail and corporate banking customers primarily through digital channels and 600 branches.

The other Kenyan MB100 2024 awardees include Lucy Mutinda, Founder & CEO, Ecocycle Camille Rebelo, Co-Founder & COO, EcoPlanet Bamboo and Biju Mohandas, Partner & Global Head of Healthcare, LeapFrog Investments.
